My name is Evie, but online I go by @snuggle. I work in tech as a site reliability engineer (SRE), always herding computers around with code! πŸ„πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ’»

It has been a long time since I’ve given an update on how the server cabinet is going. Well, snugg.ie has had a bit of an upgrade!

πŸ“Œ Let's look into Hug, the server running all the things...

Let me tell you the tale of my experiences with home servers (‘Homelab’ equipment).

This scorch mark might be why this PSU has been tripping the electrics…

A close-up view of electronic circuit boards housed in a metallic case, featuring various components and connectors with a scorch mark in the middle.

Trying to switch from ConnectX4 to ConnectX3 NICs, hopefully this won’t run as hot or overheat…

Two electronic circuit boards with various components and labels are placed side by side on a wooden surface.

It works! It works! 3-node cluster is up

Building out each of the nodes for the cluster

It’s time to set up a cluster!

I have a new project… πŸ‘€

Time to start studying for an amateur radio license!

Let's Join the IndieWeb Together

I have joined the IndieWeb and you should too. By embracing some core principles, I’ve joined an online community who is banding together to create an alternative to the current corporate controlled web.

Worked on making a small, fun design for the Opengraph embed card on my website. How’s this look?

Learning How to Blog

I find the actual technical side of creating a blog so much more fun than the actual writing side. It’s weird!

Since when does the Windows 11 installer have a game to play while you wait?!

A computer screen displays an ocean-themed video game with islands, boats, and a user interface, while a Windows update notification is visible at the bottom.

Going on an #indieweb spree! Having so much fun learning about webmentions, POSSE, syndication, backfeeds, and more!

Oh dear, I’ve broken some stuff. ‘Publish: Failed to create symlinks, possibly because of conflicting page names.’ and also none of my posts are showing. Hmm. πŸ€”

Doing something adventurous with my website’s theme β€” learning a lot about Hugo as I go!

I have only just gotten introduced to the power of RSS readers. What are some of your favourite RSS feeds to subscribe to?

What are the differences between ActivityPub and whatever BlueSky runs on?

Wow! As of today, I'm now a systems engineer for @amazon's πŸ“¦ @awscloud ☁️ I can't wait to learn and see what's in store for the future!

Ah gosh, today I had my backup server's motherboard pop. One of the VRM's set on fire and released a lot of toxic magic smoke. Disappointing! ☠️πŸ–₯️πŸ”₯

My vibe today, time for spooky video calls

πŸ‘‹ Hey!

I'm a recent grad and looking for work in tech. I'm primarily interested in automating infrastructure with my goal to eventually work in SRE.

Please feel free to send me a DM or an email over at: snugg.ie/contact

I put a temperature sensor (bluetooth) outside and it recorded 48.8Β°C after sitting in the sun… πŸ₯΅

I’m graduating today! πŸŽ‰

oh, I’m not a student anymore… πŸ₯²

I think sometimes the latter is called β€œglobbing” but it’s all too unnecessarily complicated

I get so frustrated when I never know if my regex needs .* as a wildcard or if I can use just * by itself.
