    @CrustyBumbler@mstdn.social Oh wow, thank you so much for this! And yeah, hah, the Iberital MC2 was the exact grinder I was torn between but it seemed like a UX nightmare, plus I noticed how grubby they got. The final thing that swayed my decision was the fact the Sage was on a big sale, so I got a brand new one for the price of a used MC2. I think I’m glad after what you’ve said and can’t wait to try it out! 😊

    @katnjiapus@toot.site @Amber@toot.site Thank you for sharing everything! I’ve been pretty spoilt with systemd & NetworkManager everything. 😊

    @katnjiapus@toot.site @Amber@toot.site kind of feels like there are just loads of complicated front ends that all depend on one very simple and old project…

    Reminds me of xkcd.com/2347/

    @katnjiapus@toot.site @Amber@toot.site now I’ve gotta see if there was ever a wep_supplicant…

    @Amber@toot.site @katnjiapus@toot.site Then why doesn’t systemd also handle WiFi then? :blobcatthinking:

    @binarytango @forever@fedi.nullob.si wow, you clearly over-estimate my age, huh. I barely saw the tail end of the end of modern forums like Discourse, I don’t even know what BBS was

    @katnjiapus@toot.site @Amber@toot.site At the risk of feeling silly, does wpa_supplicant manage Ethernet connections too?

    Because NetworkManager manages my Ethernet, WiFi and VPNs, but wpa_supplicant only has wpa in the name which makes me think of WPA2/3 the security thingo for WiFi so is there a different software stack that manages Ethernet or…?

    @CrustyBumbler@mstdn.social I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews so I’ve been scared if I’m honest! It’s the only electric grinder I can afford that’s apparently espresso capable but I’ve also heard of a lot of people dunking on it, saying it’s overrated and there are better grinders for more money etc.

    Do you use it for espresso? Either way, I’d love to hear more! Any tips for when it gets delivered? 😊

    Just got my first ever bag of independently sourced/roasted coffee beans by London’s @squaremile Can’t wait to test these out with the new electric Sage grinder tomorrow!

    @ssafar @hexylena @luna@mastodon.lol Yeah, where I’m from the buses recently switched from *exact change* of £2.40 to instead just accepting contactless card payments / optional top-up smart card

    It automatically charges you at the end of the day with the cheapest possible ticket you could’ve bought for your day’s journeys

    @charlotte Oh dear, that’s not good. Do you have the default file descriptor limit or did you raise it?

    @spicytamazon @shyra The BTRFS driver that ReactOS made for Windows is actually pretty cool! 😎

    @Staradine90@mastodon.social Thank you so much! 🥰

    @spicytamazon Loving how Instagram and LinkedIn recently added fields for pronouns! Don’t mind if people use it or not, but people have a low-effort and visible way to show them, if they don’t want to that’s fine too

    @erbridge hello! 👋

    @volpeon @katnjiapus@toot.site I’d much prefer Slack over Microsoft Teams, even though Slack isn’t perfect, Microsoft Teams is actively unpleasant to use…

    @spicytamazon somewhat agree, I think it should be encouragedly-voluntary. It’s amazing when social media platforms have a field for pronouns, but don’t mind if people actually fill it out or not.

    @itsjustdj gosh, my partner, who doesn’t have a good time with needles, having a blood test done by a sports fan vs a queer-presenting person with rainbow lanyard was night and day different

    @jeder gcc -O3 -funroll-loops better move out of the way, ‘bout to optimise the code away
